This was one of my favourite games while growing up (even though funnily enough I am not from the late 80's XD). It was the first game I played.

Lunar Magic

Lunar Magic is a program made for editing the levels in Super Mario World by changing things the rom. This program is how various romhacks for this game are made: modifications made to the original game that turn it into a whole other experience.

Of course, after I found out about it, I immediately got into making "romhacks". In quotes, because they are either unfinished (that's the case with most of them, actually) or they're TRASH at most.

Lunar Magic at most only offers level editing. There are more tools online for making your romhack even more unique though, such as YY-CHR, for editing the graphics of the game in .bin format, or AddMusicK, for adding custom music.

All of this stuff, along with even more tools, graphics and music ready to be inserted, custom blocks and sprites, and even romhacks can be found on a site called SMW Central. If you're interested about this kind of stuff, THAT SITE should ALWAYS be your go-to for custom stuff.
